01
THE FILM
A three-part documentary about the psychology behind clothing and expression.
PART I: THE INDUSTRY
Exploring the ways in which the clothing industry itself perpetuates gender roles and conventions, by designing, producing and marketing different products to either males or females.

PART II: PSYCHOLOGY OF GENDER
Why are gender roles bad? Why should we care about them? How do patriarchal values of masculinity and femininity, exhibited through clothing, contribute to societal sexism and misogyny? How do these societal ideas affect us?

PART III: JOIN THE MOVEMENT
A case study into the lives of those already breaking boundaries, challenging conventions, and expressing themselves in ways previously unseen by the masses of society. Empowering and captivating, their passion and individuality just might inspire others to follow suit.

THE MOVEMENT
Traditional constructs of gender expression are outdated. Challenge your expression; join the movement.
From fashion runways to regular, everyday storefronts, designers and brands are adapting to changing ideas of gender and stretching the norms of gendered clothing. Unisex models are wearing both men's and women's fashion; designers are playing with the concept of gender neutral/un-gendered clothing; and stores like Target are removing the "Boys" and "Girls" signs from the toy sections. The change is happening - so be a part of the movement.

Promote the idea of image positivity and empower your own expression by posting a picture of yourself in your most expressive attire. Post it to Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook using the hashtag #ExpressionMovie.
